INTRODUCTION -Juan Cordova a.k.a Direct was born on August 22nd 1983 in bronx NYC the birthplace of HipHop. Raised into the church did not nessecarilly mean everything was all good for him, he was exposed to many things at a young age from spiritual warfare to the pros and cons of the modern day "church" Direct is that good kid growing up that went and grew up and made the wrong choices but one thing he has held on to is his faith. Juan is not your typical lyricist he does not want to carry a label or an image because he himself knows he falls just like everyone else whether the artist or the listener" i personally dont want people to look up to me or expect anything from me God deserves all the credit im fortunate to be breathing, I fall and rise up like everyone else" he states. Juan has made many mistakes in life and has learned from them and has overcame many obstacles life changing ones. Juan has lost many friends because of his faith but with the help of God he has picked himself up he states "gold has to go through the fire in order to shine" and that is how direct reflects on his personal life.DIRECT'S TRIALS AND VIEWS ON HIP HOP -Life hit Juan very hard on April 15, 2002 losing his mother in a car accident at the age of 19 after that he found himself suffering from depression alcoholism and many trials and tribs from death threats to losing his job he really felt he was on the brink he wanted to end his life.Juan was told to have a chemical imbalance that caused heavy anxiety and depression frustration and anger.Though it has been a rough road Juan still stands firm in the Lord and has a passion for hip hop he sees life and hip hop like alot may see it.He feels Now and days everyone wants to be seen and heard they want the ultimate exposure but fact is alot of people arent trying to hear it, either that or they heard it all before and are tired of hearing it. Fact is the gospel"the word of God will live forever but alot of people dont know about the love of God they are too focused on how we the people portray it and alot of people portay God in many different and wrong ways.DIRECT'S FAITH AND WHAT HE LIVES AND STANDS FOR -Juan has a strong faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and he understands many may not agree with his faith but he stands by what is true and he strongly believes with all his heart that Christ is the truth and all that come to him can be set free. He understands people have the right to believe in what they believe he does not judge nor puts down anyone who thinks different, the music on this page is not to judge or to bring someone down but to uplift and to let the listener know that hip hop lives and God runs it because without God there is nothing there is no me no you no HIP HOP.
