POOR, TIRED, HUNGRY, and OUT FOR BLOOD!!!!

About Me

Check out our videos, they say it all. This band needs to be seen to be truly understood. I recommend it for a laugh. The STREETWISEMEN is an order of righteous rock musicians surrounding blind and homeless STREETWISE vendor and front man, William Plowman: a.k.a. "Wicked Willy Yonkers". The music is a refreshing return to fun fast rock and roll with an artsy twist. It is riff and solo heavy and the message is clearly parallel to the experiences and challenges of Will's life. Born with cataracts, Will's lenses were taken out at birth, which was the start of a long and frustrating road for him. It was one that eventually left him in his adult life jobless, and eventually homeless. Until he met the STREETWISEMEN, friends and local musicians from various groups, who banned together to give Will a voice. Will Plowman is a leprechaun of a man, standing about 5'6" with a head of wild red hair and beard. The band, always in costume, has a dynamic sound that takes elements from great classic hard rock acts and energizes them to a fiery tempo as a bed for the words of Will. Being legally blind for most of his life, Will wasn’t much for T.V. The radio was his escape, and through the years, he has become something just a little short of a rock and roll fact book. In a time when society was turning its back on Will and his life was looking like it was coming to a grim ending, rock and roll took him in. Now, armed with some of Chicago’s finest undiscovered rockers, “Wicked Willy Yonkers” is on a mission to reclaim his life and put his hat in the ring for rock stardom because, “ROCK AND ROLL, WILL SAVE OUR SOULS! ! !”

Once again

So after the loss of our original drummer, Todd Dornick, STREETWISEMEN went into a tail spin and struggled hard to keep it together. For many months we searched the city for someone we knew who, A) w...

Muppets

Will Plowman is a mother fucking muppet. Kind of a cross between Oscar the grouch and Tickle me Elmo. Oscar the Grouch because I think the black outline around his eyes in contrast with the red brow...

Where are all the Streetwisemen. . .

I walk around and see life as it is, and I ask this question to you? Where are all the other Streetwisemen? Has mankind finally resorted to every man for himself? Has no one ever heard the proverb;...

Sept. 17th

For those of you that saw it, how bout it. Streetwisemen made a rather thunderous impression on the kiddies at Metro Friday. Streetwisemen pillaged their way into the hearts of those who were there ...
