V8MAGNUM

Band started with the release of a first song on myspace called "This House" Written and mastered by Andy Houston, with Jeni Keith playing bass in early february of 2008, "I didn't have a band just a concept" quoted Andy Houston. "I wanted a kick ass band of top shelf players, and didn't want to settle for people who couldn't commit everything to the concept of making nothing into something, a large task, but a worthy endeavor. I've always wanted to give something back to the next generation as far as music, where is the new music? I can't find it anywhere, and most of it sucks. I wanted music that combined Pink Floyd and the Yardbirds, as well as alot of other artists that never got to the hall of fame but are staples in the Rock community." So with this idea Andy met Mark Bruno at a jam nite at Coaches tavern in Hammond, Indiana. Within a week they were playing out, Andy invited Mark to play in the newly formed group V8MAGNUM and at the end of the week were in the studio recording "Backstabbing bitch". I think it is safe to say that both men can relate to the song Andy wrote because they are both divorced, but we cannot assume that the song was written for anyone in particular. Kevin Long offered his services to Andy and the concept after hearing of Jeni Keith's recent step back from the band, although her work is assured by her to be in more studio applications, I am quite certain we have not seen the last of her... Currently: 2nd song mastered on february 29th 9:00pm at MAGNUM RECORDING STUDIOS LLC, at Andy's Residence in Thornton, Il. A video is in the works for "This House" and a CD featuring it will be available soon we promice! A side note I "Andy Houston" would like to thank my brother "Guitar George Houston of the Fatback Friars" for all of his help and patience helping me to understand the many confusing facets of my recording software and fielding numerous calls at ungodly hours. Recently the band was recorded at Drena's bar and a youtube video is linked here depicting the current band lineup. The most recent addition to the band is Derrick Carpenter, Derrick is a kick ass bass player and enjoys the challenge V8MAGNUM is giving him. He also is single, so watch out ladies.
