About Me

Generation HeX was established in early 2005 by a group of musicians who have spent most of their lives on stage, playing just about every style and genre of music imaginable. The intent was to offer our audiences a consistently professional show that combined the best in: song selection; performance and staging; originality of arrangements; and excellent vocals and musicianship, with the emphasis on FUN.
Put quite simply....Generation HeX is a ROCK BAND! With a high-energy stage show and one of the deepest songlists in the industry, we play the BEST music ever written, the way it was MEANT to be played!!
This group of musicians has, over the years, played to many thousands of people, at venues ranging from local bars and clubs to major outdoor festivals. Coming from highly popular local bands Rumorz, My Sacrifice, Final Faze, and "The Eddie Orbit Band" (among many others), their level of experience is unparalleled. Generation HeX has the unique ability to put their own spin on a broad range of material, keeping the spirit of the music yet making every song their own. Their songlist covers everything from classic and arena rock (70s to current) to power pop, metal and alternative hits, and all points in between. Shows can be tailored to any audience and function, and the dance floor is guaranteed to be packed! We are currently working on original material for our debut CD. Stay tuned for previews and release dates. For booking information, please contact Generation HeX at our website for additional info. Check out this great article about the band. Be sure to stop by our website to see more pictures, listen to some older sample audio, and much more! Last update to official website- 01/13/08.

Greg Pender- Bass guitar, guitar, keyboards, vocals, percussion. Greg has been an integral part of the Chicago area music scene for many years. As lead singer and guitarist for Rumorz, he played throughout the Midwest to many thousands of fans. Recruited by his brother Jack for the Creed tribute band My Sacrifice, Greg put a few more notches in his guitar strap. He has also been active in the studio, and has released CDs as a solo artist and collaborator.
Ed Nadess- Drums, percussion, vocals. Ed spent many years as the pulse and sparkplug for quite a few area cover and original bands. From his early days in Rocket, through the many years driving the beat for Rumorz, Eddie combines finesse and power into a package that defines Groove. Aside from his duties with Generation HeX, he is also an in-demand percussionist and guest drummer for some of the most successful acts throughout the Chicagoland area. He is also a virtual encyclopedia of musical knowledge. Although originally from Chicago, Eddie now parks his Harley in Tinley Park, IL.
Kurt Birkeland- Keyboards, bass guitar, vocals. Kurt was a founding member of the band, and has just returned to the GenHeX lineup. He is an accomplished keyboardist/synthesist and a killer bass player, too. He has performed with many bands throughout the Illinois and Indiana regions, most recently with "My Sacrifice" and "The Flys". He also keeps busy with many other stage and studio projects. Kurt hails from Alsip, IL.
Influences: Rock, pop, metal, and R&B from the 50's thru today. If it is or was popular, we've probably played it.
Sounds Like: If you put the Beatles, Deep Purple, Daughtry, Grand Funk, Led Zepplin, Van Halen, Dokken, and Velvet Revolver in a blender, pour it in a large glass, sprinkle it with some funked-up R&B, and add a shot of sweet vocal harmony, you'll be getting close! We sound like Generation HeX! Accept NO substitutes.
