Long Lost Brother

About Me

Long Lost Brother play rock and roll music inspired by the likes of the Stones, the Stooges, Dylan, the Ramones and contemporaries such as Super Furry Animals, Wilco and the Flaming Lips. Formed in Dublin in mid 2004 they have gigged extensively locally and nationally since and independently released their debut double A side single 'A Little At A Time/Sympathy' in March 2005. The release received widespread national and regional airplay throughout Ireland while the track A Little At A Time was chosen to appear stateside on the In Radio compilation series alongside artists such as the Fiery Furnaces, the Cribs and Smog.In April 2005 the band came to the attention of former Stranglers frontman Hugh Cornwell who went on to produce their next recordings. More recently they have been back in the studio with Stephen Shannon of Dublin folktronica outfit Halfset working on tracks earmarked for an album release in early 2007." Long Lost Brother blend elements of country, punk and electronica into a mix somewhere between the Ramones and the Burrito Brothers" HOT PRESS"plaintive, melodic, gorgeous, and angry" EYEBALLKID.COM" mix up smatterings of banjo and harmonica for country-tinged numbers....also conjure up plenty of rocking moments....shades of Dylan and the Cure" CLUAS.COM"LLB look and sound sharp instantly......have me thinking favourably of early Suede."
