Biography.Sacrificial is one of Denmarks oldest thrash acts, formed way back in 1990 by brothers Lukas and Kræn Meier. The band has been on the verge of great things ever since the debut demo “Lords of torment†in 1991, but by the way of bad luck haven´t had an international breakthrough yet. Their debut album “Forever entangled†(1993) on the independent Danish label Trechoma prod. almost got them signed to Massacre records in 1995, but unfortunately in the middle of negotiations the vocalist back then; John Hansen, decided to leave the band. This meant that the band had to find a new voice- and sadly also that negotiations with Massacre grinded to a hold.In 1997 John was approached again, after several attempts of finding a new vocalist for the band and he agreed to join forces with the band again. After recording the promo tape “Brief†the band was signed to the Danish independent label Mighty music for the release of 2 albums. This lead to the recording of “ E:E:E†in 1999 and “Autohate†in 2001. Both albums got top marks in the press and the band seemed to be back on track. But due to education and work the band members began working in different directions, some wanting to spend less time on the band and shows while others wanted to do more. This led to the departure of long time band members John Hansen and Asmus Thomsen in 2004.Remaining bandmembers Rico Holmer Andersen, Lukas Meier and Kræn Meier had a serious discussion about what the future should be for the band- if indeed there was one. It was unanimously decided that the band should go on, now with bass player Rico also doing the vocals. After some time in the rehearsal room the band has now almost reinvented itself and sounds even stronger than before. The band is again ready to do what it does best; play live shows and write heavy and powerful music.
