Sham Diggy

About Me

Originally the moniker for singer/guitarist Ste Hudson's solo project, Uncle Jeff recorded the breathy lo-fi mini album 'Sketches' (2003) on a £20 keyboard at his grandmother's house in windswept Southport. In 2004, Uncle Jeff took a giant leap onto the live stage, as an effervescent young five-piece who marked the year with an impressive EP 'Life in Flames', some memorable live shows and an appearance on RFRecord's compilation 'Playthings'.
2005 brought a few changes to the line-up as Duncan and Rob left for London, bringing Lancaster four-string-hero David Hobday, and the renegade keyboard skills of Jaggs to the fold. An EP 'It's all Blood and Thunder' (so-called thanks to a flippant remark on a sealion documentary by Stephen's grandmother- a frequent inspiration) got 2006 off to a flying start. Gigs, gigs gigs and Christmas came. After a much needed winter break, 2007 promises to a be a whole new flock of pigeons for Uncle Jeff; more songs, fresh forrays on the road, and hopefully a record or two. Keep your ears to the ground.
"Forget Yourself" - Live at Parklife Festival, 2007.
Here's a clip of one our new tunes, played from under a tarpaulin shack (complete with broken keyboard) at Parklife Festival, June 17th, 2007.
