VIRUS

About Me

Virus was originally formed in fall of 03, and after a dozen or so shows locally and abroad in 04' VIRUS under went a couple of member changes leaving a stripped down three peice. VIRUS's Guitar player "B" has been influenced by Black Sabbath, Pantera and Type O Negative. Bass player "Manski", has infuences from 311, Les Claypool and Victor Wooten. VIRUS's frontman Scott has been influenced by Mos Def, Common, KRS One Public Enemy and Zach from Rage Against the Machine. That's right VIRUS has no drummer. the drums are programmed into sequencing software and played back via lap top. VIRUS's first show with the new line up was at JILLIANS as part of the "AMPLIFY" competition and proved that you can still tear it up even going digital. VIRUS is currentley booking shows in the sorrounding states ( UT,AZ COL & CALi ) as well as locally. Here are a couple of MP3's to check out. **you can also request us on las vegas radio x107.5 xtreme radio.

Band Members: on the guitar there's "B" he's always got the mask going on we suggest you dont ask him why he has a real temper most of the time. you can ask "manski" the bass player he never stops talking . betweenthe two of them they get together and work out our digital drum tracks and the music. now "scott" the frontman he's just your average kat he helps with some of the intermission music for the live set and on the demo as well as handles the booking. "B" works on the artwork flyers website, manski takes care of the fans, e-mailing them and keeping everyone up to date on shows both in and out of town. as far as recordingh goes everything done collectively but "B" has the most influence with a great ear for sound and the way all the technical aspects come together.
Influences: "manski" the bass player has influences ranging from his father to greats such as flea, p-nut from 311, and as he progressed that changed towards victor wooten and jaco pistoriguitar player "B" has influences rangin across the board everyone from black sabbath's tony iommi to yngwie malmsteen, jimi hendrix and dimebag darrell. as far as his overall sound he loves to keep a good groove you can feel while still pouring his soul into his playing so he can play with yoursAs far as "scott" is concerned his influences are KRS-ONE, chuck D of public enemy and some of the more modern concious rappers such as mos def, common and talib kweli. much of his songs have serious political overtones such as those of zach de la rocha from rage against the machine but often time he's told he sounds like an angry ice cube.
Sounds Like: It's actually hard to say VIRUS sounds like any one particular band with the wide rang of influences and the digital drum tracks you cant really say they sound like this band or they sound like that band. VIRUS truly has a sound all their own. from time to time you may say that part of this song sound almost like this one song from another band but really as a whole there's just nothing else like it out there!!
