Resistance is NOT futile!

About Me

Isn't it ALL about me? ;)

My Interests

Books, music, politics, guns, foreign languages, philosophy, my dog, playing piano, movies, and Ren faires (gotta love a man in a kilt!)

I'd like to meet:

Someone who can hold a conversation...and my interest.
Intelligence and a sense of humor are key parts of that equation. People tend to misconstrue my intentions frequently, so let me just state that if you do not possess a strong sense of self and hear judgment instead of debate during conversation, or your sense of humor is more Jeff Foxworthy than Jon Stewart, chances are you will not get my deadpan sense of humor...or me, for that matter. Critical thinking is a skill not enough people possess and/or utilize.

Music:

Local/unsigned music, of course! Rock music is my favorite format, but I listen to a little bit of everything, and a lot of classical and Celtic music.

Movies:

Too many to list, and since you probably won't read this anyway, I don't feel a burning desire to do so. I will say that although I enjoy a Hollywood movie as much as the next person, a large portion of my movie viewing consists of political/historical documentaries.

Television:

Not big on TV, but I do try to catch the Daily Show. Hey, it's cheaper than heroin.

Books:

I read voraciously; I'm usually in the midst of on average three books at any given time. I've been reading since I was 3, and have read thousands of books in my life. My bookshelves are overflowing! Life without books would be incomprehensible to me...

Heroes:

Local musicians struggling to make it, our armed forces (especially Michael New and Ehren Watada --two soldiers TRULY upholding their oath to protect the Constitution), and whatever civilization first perfected coffee (the Turks?). Say it with me: Blessed coffee, giver of life, mother of all that is good and beautiful, to thee we give thanks!
Last but certainly not least, Congressman and Presidential hopeful Ron Paul

My Blog

Gun control. Do it for the children.

Gun control seems like such a good idea, doesn't it? Keep guns away from kids and criminals, and really, why does anyone NEED an assault rifle? To answer those questions, I say you should watch this s...

Homegrown Submissions (repost to keep on top)

The reality of Palestine
