Bruno Néné, aka 7AM, was born in Lisbon and turned his attention to music early on. First learning to play the guitar at 8, his musical interest evolved to other instruments such as the drums, the bass, keyboard, ethnic precussion and even vocal performance.Having incorporated several bands widened his knowledge of musical style and currents, but it was at 15, with his first radio show, that he truly fell for the charms of electronic music. The pleasure of sharing the music with others and being able to have a hand in generating emotion lead him to dedicate himself to the art of DJing. In 98 he came in contact with the first programs for producing music, still in the form of trackers, having evolved on to synthesis programming and audio sequencing. In an attempt to give his work as a producer more visibility, he sent his first demo CD to Dance Club magazine. Aspirine K was picked as one of the best tunes from the fresh national talent included in the Future Club 6 CD, published with the magazines May 2004 issue. The incentive from seeing his work recognized in the compilation brought great motivation to showcase his music beyond-frontiers, using the Internet as an instant divulgence platform. Without delay, the result was a fenomenal support from DJs and producers, national and foreign. Internationally established and acclaimed DJs such as Hernan Cattaneo, Luca Ricci, Jaimy, Sapphirecut, Craig Mitchell, Lance Cashion (Proton Radio) and Nelson Moreira (Afroboogie label) started off by praising 7AMs work, but went further by including music from the Portuguese producer in their sets, receiving excellent feedback from their audiences.
Some tunes were carried at Proton Radio on-line radio station by DJ Lance Cashion and by Hernan Cattaneo in his weekly show on Metro Dance radio (www.metro951.com).7AM didnt neglect the national music scene, however, sharing his work with DJs and Producers like Kult of Krameria, John-e, DJ Quiz, Diego Miranda, Nuno Clam, Paulo Leite e DJ Thierry, from whom he received great support.Emotion is the key-note in 7AM sound, spread across a texture of tech, progressive and deep, on the one hand, and minimal, twisted and hard on the other.
Aside from taking a degree in Psychology, 7AM has a music production certificate from one of Portugals most consecrated schools, MKII, headed by DJ Zé Mig.L and Homero Bettencourt. At the moment, 7AM is working full-time producing some original tracks as well as a few remixes that will be published no later than soon.
