I have 2 new CD's! They both came out last Thursday Sept. 25. We are going to slowly unravel videos from both on a weekly basis. Look for "Honey Lemon tea" this Weds. Oct.1! The first is called NICHOLAS BARRON:THE SWIMMER YEARS and features my favorite songs from the 2 records I put out with my band SWIMMER in the late 90's and early 2000's. The other record is a brand new one called ,"LIVE IN TRANSIENT SOUND", which was recorded LIVE with my band, THE NICHOLAS BARRON BAND, in April of this year and features the breathtaking playing of one of the best Rythym sections on planet earth, my singing-playing and writing, and the brilliant Transient Sound studio itself, which is owned by my mates, drummer Steve Gillis and keyboardist Vijay Tellis Nayak. There are 10 songs altogether on this record and they are a true representation of what me and my band do on a nightly basis in Chicago. We only recorded 1 to 3 takes for each song, which is a testament to the relationship we have, an almost telepathic unity. It must be noted that Candyrat records, who I am so happily signed to, is owned by one of the most beautiful human beings I have ever met, Rob Poland. He is truly the first person to come along and want nothing more than to support my talent and vision and represent me exactly for who and what I am. That is a rare thing in the dysfunctional world of the Music business. All the Candyrat artist's agree on this point. Candyrat records is all about the LIVE experience. There are videos for every song on LIVE IN TRANSIENT SOUND. Rob and I also did a video for "HONEY LEMON TEA" from NICHOLAS BARRON: THE SWIMMER YEARS that is me lip-synching and painting spontaneously while one of my best friends, Chicago Legandary Muralist, Jeff Zimmerman, paints my floating head and other images from the song(This one comes out On OCtober 1 on youtube.com). I wrote this song about my father, who many of you know, is a painter. I have this vision of him at his easel with his morning cup of honey lemon tea, painting abstract expressionist paintings in his early 20's, when he was Roy Lichtenstein's assistant at Rutger's University before Lichtenstein became one of the largest figures in modern art. This video will come out in the next few weeks as well as a video for "AIN'T NO GUARANTEE", another SWIMMER gem. You can purchase all my CD's on itunes under NICHOLAS BARRON, NICHOLAS BARRON BAND and THE NICHOLAS BARRON BAND. You can also buy the 2 new ones and my first Candyrat release "AS I AM" at CANDYRAT.COM Thanks for your support and here's hoping you love my new music as much as I love the process of writing and playing them!
