About Me

CGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIUVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGI VCGIVCGIV clean george IV are a group of 'musicians'. they make kind of anglo saxon/black american/krauty/celtic/gay eighties/progressive pop rock music. their debut single 'first blast of the trumpet against the monstrous regiment of woman' was released december 06 on edinburgh independent blackspring records. it was record of the week on colin murrays radio 1 show and number 6 in his christmas day top 25 records of 2006 as well as being played extensively on other wireless broadcasts (vic galloway, radio 1 evening session in scotland, phil jupitus bbc6 music, marc riley bbc6 music and various xfm shows). title of single does not reflect their attitude towards actual wimen who they are all, naturally, big fans of. they have previously supported babyshambles and clor. their forthcoming double a side single 'wasted on the radio/control yourself' should be out by end of July. Album to follow but wouldn't want to predict a release date as we're notoriously greedy with excessive overdubbing and laborious remixing. It will be done. 'absurd glam' (NME) CGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIV CGIVCGIVCGIV'wonky narco-pop from brilliantly named london quartet' (kerrang) CGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIV CGIVCGIVCGIV'first blast..is blessed with the kind of artillery accoutrement and unswerving savvy that puts to shame the most talentless wretches currently hogging coloumn inches in journals who ought to know better..provides for a leanly exacting slice of sub three minute crunching pop, anthem like in design and brazen in delivery..pushes all the buttons while bleeding together fist clenching clarion calling uber pop with strobe like stuttering effects that pummel and tease in equal abandon to crush you into jaw dropped submission. damn it, buy the bugger' (losingtoday.com) CGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIV CGIVCGIVCGIV'it sounds like an art rock band doing the highland fling. It's fantastic and tonight it creates the impression of an emergent force to be reckoned with' (the stool pigeon, live review) CGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIV CGIVCGIVCGIV' (the songs are )garish, fuzzy rockers that stick vividly in the mind' (the list) CGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIV CGIVCGIVCGIV'one sentiment strikes immediately: these boys are intense. the bass player scowls at the crowd like they'd just spat in his grandmothers face, thundering out the vital hooks that make these songs work. the crowd assembled are, without exception, staring back transfixed' (the skinny) CGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIV CGIVCGIVCGIV 'the performance of the headliner, clean george IV, was simply outstanding. their music could not be compared to anyone else. every sound was hard, but still catchy and had melody. moreover because of the combination of breaks and choruses, we had to keep our eyes on the stage. songs like 'control yourself' and 'wasted on the radio' had a mysterious attraction which was like a grunge band playing progressive rock while the abrasive keyboard and guitar riffs, at first ugly, stayed in my head for days to come' (glasswerks.co.uk) CGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIV CGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIV CGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIV CGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVCGIVI edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4Live on Channel M
