GRASS ROOTS WOMAN

About Me

As a screenwriter, I dedicated my life to adapting the memoir of Police guitarist Andy Summers ("One Train Later)" into a screenplay for a major motion picture. No, even after 25 years as a Police fan, I never even had coffee with Andy; so I couldn't even tell you his thoughts on a "MAJOR" motion picture. That's OK, because there are other things a member of the public can do in this country - and more precious than Oscar gold. Like run for Congress. I have a degree in Political Science, but I'm just interested in knowing how much support I would get if this were to happen, and if you lived in my district. If it doesn't happen, it's been fun at least doing this on My Space; and hopefully hearing the voice of some of the people. Here's where I stand on the issues: Health care? I hate private insurance companies and their stinking rich shareholders. Make Medicare the best damn national system in the world, and put the whole country on it. Iraq war? Well, anyone at this point who thinks Iraq can handle democracy, after thousands of years of one dominant power, is an idiot. I will not rest until we bring bring back every one of out troops, who I love with all of my American heart. Gas prices? Hybrid cars are good, but not enough. We need to tell the oil companies to shove it and have gassless cars (i.e. hydro-electric). The economy? I would turn to people like Donald Trump on that one. Gay marriage? Hey, I support anyone who can find the right person. If they know any straight men, I'm available. Who knows, maybe even The Police would like my views?

My Interests

The state of the country

I'd like to meet:

Barack Obama, which I have FOUR times to shake his hand; but I mean to have dinner with him and his very impressive wife Michelle (who I've also shaken hands with). The gentleman in the picture with me is Federico Pena, former Secretary Of Energy and Transportation in the Clinton Administration. He is an Obama supporter and very admirable man. Barack recently drew a crowd of over 200,000 in Berlin. Regardless of Andy Summers, I've already met the biggest superstar celebrity in the world (though not in Berlin)!!!

Music:

Classical and opera, vintage Vegas, Four Seasons, solo Frankie Valli, smooth and older jazz, R&B, blues, classic rock, 70's and 80's.

Movies:

Too many to mension, but my favorite comedy is the original "Blues Brothers" from 1980. Favorite sci. fi. is the "Star Wars" saga.

Television:

Dancing With The Stars, and (yes) The Oscars, though this year's Oscar ratings were the lowest ever. It's hard to find a GOOD major motion picture today, unfortunately.

Books:

"One Train Later" by Andy Summers, Donald Trump books

Heroes:

Mary Lou Retton (short woman)
