About Me

Born and raised in Indianapolis, IN. Moved to Nashville in 1975 to play keyboards in a rock band, Georgia Brown. My first mainstream Nashville gig was on the Grand Ole Opry with Skeeter Davis in 1976. After meeting Carl Perkins in Europe in 1978, took the piano gig with him- still one of the most special experiences of my career. Worked with a local R&B band, Cor, in 1979 and 80. In 1982, started a 4 year run with Ray Stevens on the road. In 1983, met and started working with guitar legend Brent Mason at the Stagecoach Lounge in Nashville. From 1986-91, back to the Grand Ole Opry with Jeanne Pruett, as well as session work in town. In 1992 and 1993, worked as piano player for Dolly Parton, and in late 1993, took the gig with Reba McEntire, with whom I worked until 2000. Early years of the new milennium were spent doing studio work. In 2004 and early 2005, gigged with Lee Ann Womack, until returning to work with Dolly in 2005, where I still am. I am also excited to be working with these three artists, who also have a presence on myspace.com: Sarah Kaine, a wonderful traditional country artist; Rob McNelley, a rock-funk guitar slinger, singer and songwriter; and the most profound soul singer I have ever met, Miss jackie Wilson.
