Fallen Idle is a melodic hardcore band from Thousand Oaks, California who combine metal guitar riffs and hardcore breakdowns with melody filled choruses and angst ridden screams to create a sound they can call their own.
Born in a Los Angeles suburb in 2002 nestled in between the Orange County hardcore scene and the mainstream rock of the Sunset Strip, Fallen Idle is composed of guitarists Johannes Lichtman (19) and Paul Salzman (19), singer Mike Marchesano (20), bassist Parvez Rashid (19) and drummer/supporting vocalist Colin Jacob (18). The bands debut EP Hope is Nothing is reminiscent of Thrice, with a Poison the Well influenced rhythm section, a Saves the Day meets Avenged Sevenfold vocal fusion and occasional Iron Maiden like dual guitar attacks.
Fallen Idles intense, energy filled live shows have earned them a devoted local following in Southern California and shows with some of their genres best acts, such as Evergreen Terrace, From First to Last, Adair and A Change of Pace and gigs at some of the areas hottest venues, including the Whisky, the Roxy, the Malibu Inn, Zen and the Knitting Factory.
Now a headlining act, Fallen Idle plans to release their second yet untitled EP sometime soon.
