I Mangard nascono per caso nell'autunno del 2007 grazie ad un sito web per musicisti. Alessandro cerca tra gli annunci qualcuno che abbia bisogno di un chitarrista ed ecco qualcosa di particolare, Rebecka è un(a) cantante che cerca un chitarrista per fare musica country. Solo dopo aver visto su myspace la pagina del cantante, Alessandro scopre che in realtà è UNA cantante, infatti Rebecka (anche come nickname avrebbe dovuto far intuire qualcosa ad Alessandro) è una ragazza svedese trasferitasi a Rimini!
Alessandro è un chitarrista elettrico di Cesena, proviene da esperienze tra il rock, heavy-metal e fusion ed ha militato in vari gruppi della zona con numerosi concerti e concorsi, regionali e nazionali. Rebecka è una cantante e musicista dalla Svezia dove, oltre ad insegnare musica, si esibiva insieme ad un gruppo di musica country con i quali ha ottenuto parecchi successi.
Dopo un primo incontro, decidono di dare vita ad un progetto semplice e preciso: chitarre acustiche e voci. In realtà il duo fonde le caratteristiche dei suoi componenti che, sebbene agli antipodi e lontanissime, si amalgamano per unire ricercate armonie vocali e melodie country con sonorità intime ed originali arrangiamenti chitarristici. L'amore per la musica dei Mangard li porta anche all'utilizzo di altri strumenti come pianoforte, stick, mandolino, slide etc...
Mangard saw the light of day in the autumn of '07 thanks to a websight for musicians. Alessandro was looking through the adds in search for someone that needed a guitar player and so he found something interesting; a singer looking for musicians to create a country band. He immediately answers to the add but only after having a look at the MySpace page of the singer he discovers that it's a female singer, in fact Rebecka (that was the nickname she used in the add and it really should have been a give-away for Alessandro...) is a Swedish girl living in Rimini!
Alessandro is an electrical guitarist from Cesena with his roots in rock, heavy metal and fusion and as a member of various bands he's taken part in concerts and competitions, in a local as well as national context. Rebecka is a singer and musician from Sweden where she taught Music and English and at one time had over 120 young adults in her school choir! She has great experience in singing live and while moving to Italy in 2007 she had a radio hit with her country group.
After meeting up for the first time they decide to initiate a simple and precise project: acoustic guitars and voices. Thanks to their previous musical experiences, though miles apart, the duo merges to unite the vocal harmonies of country music with an intimate sound and original guitar arrangments. Mangard's love for music also brings them to use other musical instruments as the piano, stick, mandolin, slide guitar etc...
