About Me

..
Hi, I am Mario D'Orrico. I come from Cosenza, in the south of Italy. Welcome to my Space. About two years ago I started listening more carefully to country music and especially to bluegrass. Listening with attention I became account of the presence of an instrument with a fantastic sound (enclosing intensity and passion)... the mandolin. Since then I began a search on the instrument and I understood that instrument would have given great emotions to me. I tried everything possible in order to own an "F style", but you probably can’t understand how much it was difficult here where I live... Then I tried on the Internet and I finally bought it from the USA... Since then I have never stopped playing it... it is definitely my instrument!!! Mine mandolin... Now I am studying technique for being able to become a good musician and I hope to arrive at the levels of my idols, who have influenced me so much... On April of this year I begin to play with my cousins Aldo D' Orrico to the guitar and Giuseppe Marino to the Bass executing the classics songs of the bluegrass repertory as it can you listen in this page. On August of the ' 08 I attend the " Stage di Mandolino Folk" held from the great Martino Coppo. Great experience that has give me new and strong motivations...
