BIO......................................................... . Nikkie Santoro came from a background that is typical for most rap artists. Her Mother that became wealthy after she married when Nikkie was at the age of 8 and her father was an ex football star turned crack addict, neither parents raised her. Nikkie was Raised by a legal guardian,(her mothers friend )in a Government housing projects located in the east end of Toronto (like 65% of kids children's services were involved, as she dealt with physical and mental abuse. Nikkie felt the need to move out at 14 years old to be in her Fathers company in a crack house located in the west end of Toronto she found therapy in writing poems and unformatted songs,with influences like Roxanne Shante, MC Lyte, Queen Latifah, Lil'Kim and Tupac being her favourite artist. She seemed to relate to strong female rappers with a tomboyish swagger. Living a life without any discipline, Nikkie ended up taking a year out of high school to hustle, 15 years old with rent and other bills that had to be paid. Her father had got incarcerated, Nikkie couldn't pay the mortgage alone! She ended up in juvenile hall/ boot camp by 16 and court ordered she took a shot at school again with an Apartment in an infamous housing project in downtown Toronto,Regent Park. Also in her first real relationship with a member of an organization by the name of "YBG". He seemed at the same time like the only person in Her life that seemed to care or that could relate to her. Nikkie helped him start an Indie record label named "Parkland records" and although her skills as a rapper were becoming amazing, Nikkie still never considered taking music seriously or becoming an artist on the label she helped build. The relationship got worse at the same time her only female friends,Taneish leslie & Eboney Chipman advising her to leave. Still ALWAYS YEARNING FOR A BETTER LIFE, Nikkie moved to Atlanta to get out of her relationship and to take a shot at modeling and Rap career with her consistent Best friend, and play sister Taneish Leslie (J'adore magazine owner/publisher) with 300 dollars and a greyhound ticket Nikkie left Toronto for Atlanta. Both waitressing at a small strip club downtown named "Goosebumps". Meanwhile starting out their careers in the Entertainment industry, Nikkie finding it hard being able to deal with not living the glamorous life she was used to hustling in Toronto, went back to her old ways at this point.Meantime the modeling took off first, for both of them,numerous video shoots and magazine spreads and Taneish started her website, and Nikkie featuring in Smooth's Live from Jamaica issue, one of her most memorable spreads to date. She took those opportunities and started working with some very recognizable producers in Atlanta, while in 2006 Taneish decided to start a publication by the name of J'adore Magazine, with Courtney Francis(CEO) and Jasana Alleyne (editor and chief), of course Nikkie was on board and is currently the Executive Assistant to the publisher and J'adore's Event coordinator. The first issue of J'adore hit newstands with a bang with Claudia Jordon on the cover in April 07. Now the current issue with A-lister, hollywood socialite and dear friend of the J'adore family Kim Kardashian on the cover, J'adore Magazine has flourished to be one of the most sought after publications on newsstands and the industry. Nikkie currently spends her time between J'adore business affairs and the recording studio, working on her upcoming mixtapes..."American Gangstress" and "Just yo luck,tha rap game got Nik". She has been compared to the likes of Lil'kim and Remy ma, but more shockingly Male artists such as Lloyd Banks and Jadakiss. look out for Nikkie Santoro's projects coming this summer 2008.
