intellectual stimulation, art, music, theatre, literature, travel, learning... i want to know and feel everything. i want to meet everyone worth meeting, and go everywhere worth going... i want to put a bullet between the eyes of every panda that won't screw to save its species. i want to open the dump valves on oil tankers and smother all those french beaches i'll never see. i want to breathe smoke.
siddhartha gautama (aka "buddha"). i'd like to sit down and have a chat with the ol' boy. also elliott smith (RIP Oct 2003), my favorite singer/musician... check out his music. it is amazing.
GOOD SHIT!!! "sophisticated" is the genre of my musical taste. first and foremost, ELLIOTT SMITH and MODEST MOUSE, tried and true. THE POSTAL SERVICE! THE BLOW!... of course PINK FLOYD, SIMON AND GARFUNKEL, THE DOORS, crosby, stills, nash and young, fleetwood mac, jefferson airplane, janis joplin, JOHNNY CASH, BECK, CAT POWER, JEFF BUCKLEY, coldplay, ugly cassanova, RADIOHEAD, rem, andrew bird, the white stripes, BELLE AND SEBASTIAN, pete yorn, FIONA APPLE, BJORK, the red hot chili peppers, garbage, ben harper, TOOL, bad religion, the faint, some of the shins. i am getting into joseph arthur (sober and artistic, i hear), the pixies, massive attack, thievery corporation, portishead, mindless self indulgence, the yeah yeah yeahs, phish, joanna newsom, an many, many more!
here are a few... AMELIE, AMERICAN BEAUTY, CHICAGO, A CLOCKWORK ORANGE, clerks, CLOSER, eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, FIGHT CLUB, FRIDA, hitchhikers guide to the galaxy, kids, kinsey, NATURAL BORN KILLERS, office space, orgazmo, PARTY MONSTER, pink flamingos, PULP FICTION, rent, requiem for a dream, the royal tenenbaums, team america, THE VIRGIN SUICIDES... and so many others that i can't think of right now... i have always been a lord of the rings fan. i am also a fan of star wars and star trek (mainly tng). V FOR VENDETTA IS SUPERB!!! it is a movie about a dystopian society set in the future. it reminded me of 1894, another story of a negative utopia... for those of you who have read 1984 here's a little piece of info: in the year 1984 a movie about the book was made. actor john hurt played the part of winston, the main character who is trying to find a way around the system. john hurt also plays the chancelor in the movie v for vendetta, a role reversal that I found to be quite amusing...
american dad, aqua teen hunger force, family guy, futurama, the simpsons, ren and stimpy, chappelle's show, south park, scrubs, and reno 911... mythbusters... i don't have cable, i just get the dvds.
i have recently been really getting into the works of george carlin. yes, he not only does wonderful sand up, the man writes as well! here are a few of my favorite reads: still life with woodpecker by tom robbins, 1984 by george orwell, the doors of perception and brave new world by aldous huxley.
my grandmother, for she is the epitomy of stregnth. all women of high morals... and, sir george carlin.
