Travelling and visiting people, either for work or when I have the time and money to do it on my own. Music, I need it, although I tend to be backtracking to my youth these days and reliving my younger musical loves instead of forging new paths. I have a fear of spiders and heights, but this only makes me more interested in them ;) I hate flying but I would love to get my pilots license someday, especially for a floatplane. I love women- they are probably the most endlessly exciting thing I have ever run into in my life. Always surprising! The most interesting thing I am experiencing in my life right now is a feeling of belonging and somewhat security. Home. I love drinking, especially the finer vodkas of the world- as the Russian saying goes, "Beer without vodka is a waste!". I still love smoking, but have recently bought a book with some psychology to help me quit- I've owned the book for 18 months and haven't opened it yet ;) In past years I have really enjoyed canoeing, nature, hiking, camping and cottaging but my work has slowed me down. I hope to get back to it this summer. My great circle of friends! Anything else I could write.... it would take me hours! I usually don't have a simple life, but I do right now and I love it so much.
People who are basically sane, compassionate and independant. Other musicians, artists, hippies, bikers, taxi drivers, bartenders and barwaitresses. Someday I'd like to meet an Icelandic tightrope dancer- not a tightrope walker, but a dancer eh. And they have to be Icelandic or the deal is off. I'd like to meet some women from Eastern Europe- can't get enough of you babes. I'd like to meet Pierre Trudeau, but he's dead. I'd love to have a strong coffee and a few smokes with Evgeny Kissin, Brad Mehldau or Leszek Mozdzer; if you guys read this drop me a line! (wow. Gotta love this internet thing- Leszek dropped me a line). I'd like to drink for a night with the Tragically Hip or the Scorpions. I'm a modest fan of both. And of course I would love to meet you!
Anything opposite to what I'm currently playing regularly. When playing lots of jazz I like to unwind with Tool or Joni Mitchell, Peter Frampton, ACDC or even VanHalen. When I'm playing a lot of rock I might get into latin and salsa music, samba, or maybe love songs!. If I've been partying I could even get into various electronica, but this is rare for me. I like the organic side of music creation. I love visualizing what the players are doing, thinking and feeling. Other than these hints, I'm open to virtually anything.
Singin' in the Rain, Me, Myself and Irene, A Bridge Too Far, Napoleon Dynamite! Deliverance, Enter the Dragon, El Mariachi, Spinal Tap, Zoolander, Harry Potter 1, The Princess Bride- the idea of true love still gets me. Especially when mixed with swashbucklers. The Last Waltz.
Corner Gas, Trailer Park Boys, I loved the live acting Tick series! The old Kung Fu series, Northern Exposure, Will and Grace, that Chopper building show, Kenny vs Spenny
Into the Wild, Eiger Dreams, A Pirate Looks at Fifty, Mapping the Deep, The Running Man. Mags- Popular Science, Rolling Stone
"Dyin' ain't much of a livin'"- Clint Eastwood says to a bounty hunter. "I am the sterling silver ladle of justice, pouring it's foamy cream over the just-picked strawberries of crime". The Tick.
