About Me

Jorge Nino Jr. aka DJ Nurotic, was born and raised on Chicago’s north-west side. He had a love for music since he was a young child. One of Nurotic’s first acts of being a DJ was when he tried to mix to cassettes together using two different tape players in his basement at the age of six. As he grew older, his love for music grew stronger. The music of which he was raised on was diverse. His father listened to a lot of 70’s and 80’s music, his mother listened to more of the top 40 music, and his uncles and aunts introduced him to house and hip hop.At the age of twelve, Nurotic attended a cousin’s birthday party who had a DJ spinning. Instantly, Nurotic knew what he wanted to do with his life. Looking at the way the DJ played each track with style and blended them so nicely, he knew right then and there, he wanted to become a DJ. Fortunately, the DJ was a friend of Nurotic’s cousin and agreed to help teach Nurotic the basics. Nurotic worked with DJ Tequila for about a year and a half until DJ Tequila stopped being a DJ due to personal reasons. For the next three years, Nurotic would go over one of his friend’s house and have DJ sessions there. That is when he truly started to understand what it takes to be a good DJ. With the help of his uncle and aunt, who had just purchased a bar in Chicago, Nurotic received his first set of CD players. Nurotic worked off the payments of the CD players by spinning every Friday in the bar in front of a live crowd.Nurotic was only 17 when he landed his first residency. He was not satisfied with spinning in front of 50 or so people, so he decided to start off his own promotional company and start doing parties. For the next two years, Nurotic threw some of the biggest high school parties at Major Hall in Chicago. He was averaging 500 people every week. Even though the parties were a success Nurotic still was not satisfied. He wanted to venture out and deal with different venues and different crowds.Ever since the decision to expand his horizon, Nurotic has been hired to DJ at small venues that only hold 100 people to sold out concerts. He has been a DJ at concerts for groups stretching from hip hop to reggaeton to house, and bachata. He has never limited himself to one crowd or one area. Nurotic has performed all around Chicago. He has also performed in Indiana, Wisconsin, Florida, Maryland, Nevada, Ohio, and Iowa.Besides spinning in clubs and other venues, Nurotic has put out an impressive amount of mixtapes. He started off with his first mixtape series called “Self-Titled”. The success from “Self-Titled” encouraged him to put out two more volumes of that series as well as to start off other mixtape series. He is currently putting out a number of Juke CDs as well as his newest series “My City: Chicago” which features nothing but Chicago artist and is distributed for free.Nurotic has achieved so much in so little time, but the hunger for more is still inside of him. Money and popularity is not the main motivation behind his drive, he does it for the love of music. Nothing makes him feel better then to look up at a crowd and know that he controls how they feel. Knowing that he makes people happy, smile, dance, is what keeps him moving on.Download Mixtape | Provided by DatPiff.comDownload Mixtape | Provided by DatPiff.comPack - My City

Conceited

Lately I've been hearing chit and chat that I was conceited. Confident in my work yes, conceited, no. I DO NOT think that I'm "better" than anyone else (status wise). If I do not say hi to you at a p...
