Steven Thompson Jr. is a 24-year-old singer/ songwriter/ musician from Kentucky. He started playing the guitar at the age of 7, accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior when he was 8, and by the time Steven was 12, he began playing more instruments, and started transcribing the melodies that danced in his head upon the strings of his guitar. Now at the age of 24, he has written many songs, but he has made a change in direction and now writes songs for a higher purpose.
At the age of 11, Steven’s guitar playing made him the 1st place winner in the music category of the Kentucky State Academic Competition for Christian Schools. In the 90's, he (and a former high school band) won 1st place of the high school talent show from performing his own music at Victory Christian Academy. In August of 2000, he played lead guitar for The Flash Kat Kadillacs at a concert for Vietnam Veterans, and for doing so he received a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition from the Representative of the State, Anne Northup. In 2005 - 2006 Steven was a member of the independent A&R Company named TAXI, and had music forwarded by the strict A&R panel to Columbia Records, Verve Records, and an Independent Label called The Grid. Most recently, Steven has responded to the calling God has placed on him to focus on Christian music.
He enjoys spending time writing and creating more music, hoping that one day he might make more feet start tapping, more voices start singing, and more people start knowing about God’s gift of salvation, by sharing his gift of music.
