Name: Cruz Rock Age: 22 Place of Birth: St. Croix U.S.V.I Genre: Reggae/ Dancehall Cruz Rock was born on the island of St. Croix the U.S Virgin Islands on July 4th 1984. His heritage traces back to Trinidad and Puerto Rico. As a youth he grew up in various areas of the island according to his families circumstances. In the summer of 1989 his family experienced Hurricane Hugo a natural disaster that would change their lives for many days to come. They remained with out a home for a couple months and with out electricity for 6 months. They were fortunate by the grace of the most high to be granted a trailer home by F.E.M.A in the ending of the summer. He was told that art was a talent that was told to be embraced for it is his gift. He discovered his love for music at a young age, because of his fathers participation in a weekend salsa band, his father was a man of many talents . His parents always told him that his education would be important to obtain, and would give meaning to his life. When his parents divorced, his mother was struggling to make ends meet we struggled with a single parent household for a while he said. His family would then move into a 2-bedroom apartment in Estate Glynn/ Mon Bijou in 1991. They began a new life there, even though it was one of the number one areas for drug trafficking in the 1990s. His brothers love for reggae music as well as his new environment shined new light into his life. He began writing music at the age of 15 and became serious with it when he moved to Columbus to attend an institute of higher learning for the arts. He is currently working on singles that are soon to be released in Jamaica and Europe. Genre: Reggae/ Dancehall
