Creative people. Philosophical people. "We don't see things as they are, we see things as we are" - Anais Nin. Human beings take snapshots of each other and refer to the snapshots whenever the other’s actions confuse. Then, when the snapshot and the person no longer match, we do not tear up the snapshot and take another; instead, we demand the person change back into the snapshot, and if they should refuse, we throw away the person. I want to meet those who seek to transcend this human frailty, yet who recognize they will not likely always be successful. We can only strengthen one another through the differences projected by change. Our vision of each other is but diffraction, and it is through diffraction that we become greater than we are.
"Life without music would be a mistake" - Friedrich Nietzche. I love any music that is intentional and artistic. If I don't love something and I find someone who does, I want to find the thing in it they love. Those I listen to the most at the moment include: Current 93, Nick Cave, Legendary Pink Dots, Delerium, Dead Can Dance, Death in June, David Bowie, Pink Floyd, Rozy Music, David Sylvian, Alla Pugacheva, Amr Diab, Bauhaus, Apoptygma Berzerk, Peter Murphy, Coil, Christian Death, Rozz Williams, Cheb Mami, Frank Sinatra, Les Rita Mitsuko, Natacha Atlas, Portishead, Sisters of Mercy, Sarah McLachlan, Simon & Garfunkel, Skinny Puppy, Strawberry Switchblade, Sorrow, Syd Barrett, Swans, Tear Garden, The Damned, Tori Amos, U2, Velvet Underground.
Fight Club, Lord of the Rings Trilogy, American Beauty, Moulin Rouge, The Wall, Name of the Rose.
I don't watch much T.V. When I do, it's usually law and crime related - Law and Order, LaO SVU, Forensic Files, FBI Files, Autopsy, etc.
It's easier to list authors... Simone de Beauvoir, Anais Nin, Friedrich Nietzsche, Lou Andreas-Salome, Charles Baudelaire, Neil Gaiman, Samuel Delany, Aleister Crowley, Anne Rice, Poppy Z. Brite, John Douglas, Jean-Paul Sartre, Tim Powers - The Stress of Her Regard, William Blake, David Hume.
