Hip-Hop Association

Founded in March 2002, the Hip-Hop Association (H2A) was formed to facilitate, foster, and preserve Hip-Hop culture. Our mission is to utilize the culture as a tool to facilitating critical thinking, foster social change and unity, while empowering communities through media, education, preservation, & leadership initiatives.

Now at the forefront of popular culture, Hip-Hop has, since its inception, been a genuine expression of urban life. Over the course of its thirty-year history, Hip-Hop has expanded into a multi-generational, multicultural and multilingual movement encompassing music, art, dance, style, fashion, and distinctive mindset as well as vernacular. Hip-Hop at it’s finest has used these expressions to deal with social issues.

Hip-Hop is a lifestyle born from positive community-based movements. The Hip-Hop Association was formed to counter the misrepresentation of Hip-Hop by facilitating, fostering and preserving the vast majority of the culture that has been successful in creating positive ways to utilize it’s power.
