Somewhere between an ambitious pavement poet and the dynamic El-Hajj Malik Shabazz, you will find the fiery orator-Kalonji Jama Changa. Voted one of Departure Magazineâ€™s â€œLeaders of the New Schoolâ€, Kalonji Jama Changa has quickly risen to become one of the most sought after lecturers, hosts and organizers in the country. This peopleâ€™s advocate can be found organizing around the clock, whether itâ€™s in a hood near you, or at one of the many HBCUâ€™s, or Ivy League Universities that he has lit up. As National Chief Coordinator of the Prisoners of Conscience Committee (POCC), the political organization that boasts such heavy weights as, Chairman Fred Hampton Jr., former death row inmate Aaron Patterson and the politically charged rap group dead prez, Kalonji launches and oversees chapters nationally. Within one year in the city of Atlanta alone, he has been instrumental in initiating programs such as the â€œFeed The People Programâ€, community clothing campaigns; political education classes; self-defense training; numerous rallies, panel discussions and more. Kalonji is also the founder of the FTP Movement, a faction that organizes and unifies political organizations around the nation. Partially due to his youthful appearance, uncompromising militant voice and ability to move the crowd, Kalonji has become known as â€œThe Riot Starterâ€. In 2005, he was featured on the Ride or Die Tour, 3 The Hard Way Lecture Series - with Fred Hampton Jr., and Mukasa Dada, and the Underground Railroad Series - with Professor Griff of Public Enemy. The high demand for Kalonji Jama Changa has earned him the honor of hosting both official 26th Annual Black August Commemoration Concerts in Oakland, California and Atlanta, Georgia. In addition to his effective organizing and electrifying microphone skill, Kalonji is also a talented revolutionary writer whose work has appeared in the San Francisco Bay View, The Source and Frontline Magazine to name a few. Kalonji is also the host of "The FTP Power Hour", a Revolutionary Radio Show, that airs Thursday nights on HarambeeRadio.com.
