Born in Kingsport, TN and raised in Gate City, VA, I came from a Bluegrass and Gospel background. The first instrument I was inspired by was the guitar, but being only five or six years old, I left my mini guitar outside and my Dad ran it over with the lawn mower! I also loved my Mom’s high school trumpet, but moved to piano because my Mother plays and obviously we had one in the house. Destined to be a singer as well, I would stand on the fireplace mantel singing into a fire poker and make my brother’s my audience! We moved to Florida when I was thirteen years old. I entered band in middle school and being a shortage of French Horn players, I volunteered. I sat first seat through middle and high school. Soon after high school I went into the dental field, but always has a love for music and dreamed of doing something with it. At the age of 23, I moved to South Florida and now I currently have original five cd’s: As A Girl, Talk of the Town, Back to my Roots, and Uncommon Ground.I have played from New York to Key West and in 2004 won Best Overall Performer in the New York International Music Festival. I continue to enjoy my ‘indie’ status as an artist, with free will to express my music however I see fit and with anyone I see fit to play with. I am currently working with Billy Vasquez, who is an extraordinary musician. Together we continue to beat our own path and we do it our way.
