Two drums and a cymbal fall off a cliff...

About Me

I've always detested these "so, tell me about yourself" questions... my take has always been, get to know me and figure out what you think about me for yourself. I suppose one has to start somewhere though, so...
I'm a musician. In particular, I'm a drummer. These are the gifts God gave me, and why I'm here. I never feel as real, and alive, as when I'm playing, especially in front of an audience. My degree is in music, my training is in percussion, my passion is my drum kit. I live to play music, but nothing is ever as satisfying as pounding drums with sticks!!
My goal is to be able to make enough money playing music, to be able to keep playing music - preferably while making many recordings and in front of large numbers of people! Still, it's not the numbers that makes it worthwhile, but simply the music. And that's a goal I can devote my life to.
Which Tarot Card Are You?
You are the Fool card. The Fool fearlessly begins the journey into the unknown. To do this, he does not regard the world he knows as firm and fixed. He has a seemingly reckless disregard for obstacles. In the Ryder-Waite deck, he is seen stepping off a cliff with his gaze on the sky, and a rainbow is there to catch him. In order to explore and expand, one must disregard convention and conformity. Those in the throes of convention look at the unconventional, non-conformist personality and think What a fool. They lack the point of view to understand The Fool's actions. But The Fool has roots in tradition as one who is closest to the spirit world. In many tribal cultures, those born with strange and unusual character traits were held in awe. Shamans were people who could see visions and go on journeys that we now label hallucinations and schizophrenia. Those with physical differences had experience and knowledge that the average person could not understand. The Fool is God. The number of the card is zero, which when drawn is a perfect circle. This circle represents both emptiness and infinity. The Fool is not shackled by mountains and valleys or by his physical body. He does not accept the appearance of cliff and air as being distinct or real. Image from: Mary DeLave http://www.marydelave.com/

I'd like to meet:

(This is preliminary - more to come!)

Everyone on my friends list, for starters...
Jesus (I will one day, just want Him to know I'm looking forward to it!)
The Pope, though I think I'd argue and get in trouble. Would've loved to have met his predecessor, though... John Paul II was an inspiration. I'm so sad he's gone.
The Dalai Lama... as much an inspiration as John Paul... I hear he meets folks on occasion, I'll have to do that before he leaves, too.
Sevendust! My favorite band... the only band I've heard in nearly 40 years of life whose music I love more than my own!
Jimmy Carter... if I could be someone else, it would be him. Not to be President, or Governor, or any of the trappings... but to have that amazing blend of logic, intuition, and faith... definitely one of the great humans of our time, and typically, hardly anyone realizes it.
Any other living US President (the dead one can keep to themselves, thank you very much!); I'd love to look them in the eye, gauge what kind of person they really are, behind the lens and hype and handlers. A couple I KNOW I'd argue with and get in trouble...
That's enough for now...

On the Benefits of Medication

I've been wondering for months now, if I really need meds. Would I be better off without them? Are they a crutch, or a necessity? Are they, as some would accuse, affecting my personality, so that I ca...
