Orchestre L’Pow! formed during the development of a hip and happening burlesque scene in Seattle. The scene’s biggest problem, according to Orchestre L’Pow!’s founder and stickman, Dain Hudson, was a serious lack of live music. Sure, it was “GIRLS! GIRLS! GIRLS!” just like it used to be back in the heyday of burlesque, but these days the girls were removing their clothes to --”Gasp!” and “Yawn”-- recorded music!!So Dain, operating as "Frank Lovejoi - Master of the Big Beat," gathered tried, trusted and true bandmates dedicated to the cause of great entertainment. Nick “Big Daddy” O’Donnell (Guitar), Sean the Bassman (Upright Bass), and Josh Clifford (Saxophone). Together they create a gritty union of Cabaret Jazz and Post-Punk as it meets the steamy underworld of fuzz guitar, solid doghouse bass, sexy swingin’ saxophone and frenzied beats.Orchestre L'Pow! sets themselves apart from the burlesque pit bands of old by being a visible part of the show. The band simply had to rise up out of the pit and share a little of the spot light, especially in mid-solo or stick-twirl. Orchestre L’Pow! can also be booked “sans dancers,” taking center stage for a night of music you can “bump and grind” to yourself! From the sultry fan dances and twirling pasties, to the brash and bouncy beats of the band; an evening of Burlesque with Orchestre L'Pow! is always hot and happening!-Frank Lovejoi & Orchestre L'Pow!
