Cricket, martial arts, psychology, comics, film, anime, manga, Sushi. Now some people may find cricket boring, but when you have a spherical brick being thrown at you at 80 miles an hour it becomes abit more interesting. Its even more interesting when said ball is hit by said batter at your face, catch or die!. I play for the ODCC (old dorking cricket club) and plan to get atleast 2 trophies this season. My next door neighbour has played 1500 games for the team and has over 2500 wickets ._. Ive been doing martial arts on and off for around 10 years. Currently it stands at: Judo (in south africa) for around 4 years. Karate (in england) for around 5 years. Tiger-crane Kung fu (at portsmouth uni) for about a year and a half. The kung fu was by far the most intensive training Ive ever done, at one point training up to 8 hours a week. As well as Kung fu I was studying San-Da along side it, which is effectively kung fu kickboxing...with throws!. Next on the agenda I would like to take up a grappling art (possibly Brazilian jijutsu) or boxing.Psychology wise I would describe myself as an ecological/environmental psychologist. I am most interested in the relationship people have with their environment, how it effects us and the environment reciprocally. I have a Bsc from Portsmouth University and am soon to finish a Msc in environmental psychology at Surrey University. Am considering a PhD :) .
Alan Moore, Stephen Fry, Jonty Rhodes, Nelson Mandela, Lance armstrong, Neil Gaiman, Terry Pratchet, Ah-nald A.K.A the governator. To be honest Id like to meet most people of interest, and as a psychologist I find most people interesting! But above all, Spider jerusalem.
Cheesy symphonic metal, with plenty of helpings of old fashioned rock n roll. Must say Ive taken a liking to a band I saw at plantation called "Hooray for me". Another band that sometimes plays there is "Neon Lights", they are awesome. The first band I ever really got into was "The offspring" but I kinda lost enthusiam for them recently, Americana was their last album I really enjoyed. Now days you can catch me listining to Rhapsody, Manowar, Foo fighters, Dodgy techno remixes of phantom of the opera..., five iron frenzy, the most awesome of anime theme songs (naruto, evangelion, Full metal alchemist. you know the good stuff).
Im an avid film lover. But I always find myself differentiating between "good films" and "entertaining" films. The best films are those that can do both. An entertaining film = Rocky, Die hard, Conan, Bloodsport, Zoolander. You know big summer blockbuster, feel good, action, comedy films.Good films are the more arty ones like Memento, films with actual meaning that make you care. The amazing films are movies like Terminator 2 that are well made and clever ( IT IS!) but are also offer pure entertainment.Baron munchausen is an awesome old school film with a BOATLOAD of A-list actors who wer eonly small fry then.
Not really watching much T.V at the moment. Few things that do still entertain me though: Streetcrime UK!, That 70's show, futurama, Q.I, cricket, Invader Zim. The real hustle and a few others. Good movies are always welcome
Terry Pratchet mostly. Do enjoy comics though. Alan Moore, Neil Gaiman and Warren Ellis are my favourite writers but am also a batman fan. Fables is also a brilliant comic, I have some of the cover art by James Jean framed in my bedroom, check out http:....www.jamesjean.com to see his amazing art. So besides batman anything DC vertigo I normally like. Manga I read most is naruto. Rock Lee kicks so much ass, Ive never gone from hating to loving a character so fast. Id buy Rock lee a drink :DSee doesnt he look like a knob?, Not only that but his the most gimped in terms of abilities. He is the equivelent of the limbless olympic swimmer, just aquaplaining through sheer will. Hardcore. One of my all time fave's is transmetropolitan, EVERYONE should read it. It should be compulsory. Transmetropolitan follows Spider as he harasses people with the ugly, painful truth until they are practically driven insane, fill their pants up with defecation wrought of abject terror, or simply kick his ass. Then he writes articles about them.
Jonty Rhodes, Lance Armstrong, Stephen Fry, Nelson Mandela, Skeletor,Spider jerusalem,Rock Lee!
