We're on a Misson!
In 1997, the first Charlotte Race for the Cure was held at the Mint Museum of Art in Charlotte, NC. After two successful events, an affiliate was created in an effort to continue to raise money for local breast health programs. The 2007 Charlotte Race for the Cure was our 10th anniversary and an incredible one at that. We raised over $1 million to support our mission.
Throughout our nine-county service areas, Cabarrus, Gaston, Iredell, Lincoln, Mecklenburg, Rowan, Stanly, and Union, North Carolina and York, South Carolina, we have raised over $8 million in ten years in helping promote breast cancer and breast health awareness to more than 56,000 individuals.
Today the Charlotte Affiliate continues to carry out our promise of saving lives and ending breast cancer forever by empowering people, ensuring quality care for all and energizing the science to find the cures.
The 2008 Charlotte Race for the Cure will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2008 in Gateway Village.
