Old Dog Music is a song-writing project started by Ollie Davidson. Writing music since the age of 16, Ollie has finally come into his own, mixing his beautifully crafted songs with soul-stirring vocals to create a sound that is unique yet familiar.
With a love for non-for-profits causes, Ollie Davidson co-formed his own NPO, Compassionista Productions , whose mission is to help raise awareness for other worthy causes and social issues by organizing benefits in the art and music community to help gain funds and exposure for these organizations. So far in 2005, Old Dog Music has arranged or performed for benefits in Spain, San Francisco, Chicago and Madison to help the victims of the Tsunami, the Sudanese refugees, and the Gulf Coast hurricane victims. Currently Ollie is working on his most ambitious project of late, a compilation of mostly Chicago musicians to benefit the victims of the Hurricanes. The CD will be released in mid-November.
Ollie's music has appeared on NPR, Music 4 iPods , a current cable talk show called John's World and most recently, his song "So Far Away" was included on the Braun and Brains Songwriting Collective .
Peter Andreadis plays drums in the project. This versatile musician also plays drums in Chicago's up and coming musical sensation, Baby Teeth . Peter fronts his own project called All City Affairs, as well as appearing in the power rock trio Russian.
Ruby Harris , the Chicago music legend whose work has netted him gigs opening for Ray Charles, stints with Bob Dylan and Tom Petty and a performance for President Clinton, plays violin.
Adam Frick is a sound engineer and piano virtuoso, whose unique talents help bridge this group of eclectic musicians.
