Margaret Malandruccolo grew up in a little automotive town in Canada, developing a fondness for cars, rust and scrap metal. Her Italian immigrant parents instilled in her a love for photography, travel, and food. She longs to run away to Italy and eat buffalo mozarella.
Some time in the mid-90s, after film school and a few years slaving away as a film industry grunt, Margaret hit the commercial scene, establishing such clients as General Motors, Puma Sportswear, Kangol Headwear and Molson Beer.
Not satisfied with resting on her laurels, Margaret drove into Los Angeles at the wheel of her unreliable Saab to pursue the dream. There were the obligatory clock-watching stints and time spent devouring peanut butter sandwiches, but soon her sacrifices and 10 years of workaholic stress started to make sense in working with artists such as Crystal Method, DJ Tiesto, Colm Wilkinson, and Dwight Yoakam.
She climbed the ranks through camera assisting, editing and cinematography, has directed over 30 music videos, won a couple of Juno Awards, a couple of CCMA Awards, and an OCMA Award among her numerous nominations, but keeps returning over and over to her still photography roots, grounding her in a focused chaos.
She continually challenges her mere survival by endlessly pursuing creative projects and dreaming of the day shell run away to Italy.
