About Me

[ Heidi (my future wife) and I - 1000 Islands, NY ]
~
I'm independent-minded, a Constitutional Conservative, an optimist, a hockey fan, a love-ah, a patriot, and most importantly, saved by grace.

I'm a firm believer in LIBERTY and have concluded our country has taken a wrong turn. It doesn't help matters that I (as a paleoconservative) live in one of the most liberal states in the Union, New York. Thankfully the Ron Paul movement has begun to wake up a lot of folks.
We need someone who will RESTORE THE REPUBLIC and uphold the Constitution! It's the Ron Paul message and Constitution Party candidate Chuck Baldwin is carrying the torch. The Constitution Party represents my political leanings: www.constitutionparty.com
One of my earliest political memories was around age 7 when I made a sign saying "Youth For Reagan" and hung it on the tree in our front yard. I loved the Gipper. He made me feel proud to be an American. On a family vacation one summer I got to tour the White House and just was amazed to be in the same building as him. Actually, I was able to tour a lot important places in our country's history thoughout Virginia, New York, Pennsylvania, and of course Washington DC. I'm grateful for that. I know it helped shape who I am and how much love I have for my country.
As I got older I admired people like Pat Buchanan and Ralph Nader. I've explored a wide variety political ideas from moderates to the far-right to far-left, etc. Some ideas were alluring, some plain old crazy, and some looked good on paper but would never translate into reality. For me however, none surpasses the original intentions of our Founding Fathers. The restoration of the original American ideal of LIBERTY is my aim.
In our current time Ron Paul has stirred up the same feeling of, well, patriotism, that I felt as a child. Due to politics being politics, he's not the Republican nominee but Chuck Baldwin is a worthy contender. The mainstream media will no doubt continue to ignore 3rd party candidates but casting a vote for a true Constitutional Conservative is an opportunity I won't pass up. Give him a chance.

Another candidate who I greatly admire and would always consider voting for (and have done so twice in the past) is Ralph Nader. He's an honest Constitutionalist and has done much good throughout his lifetime. Having had the privilege of hearing him speak in person, I really can say that he's one of the finest Americans in the public arena.

I was baptized Catholic as a child but grew up in a charismatic, Pentecostal, Assemblies of God church. Some people complain about their spiritual upbringing but I won't... my life has consistently been about being closer with God.
As an adult I'm more in tune with an experiential sort of spirituality (be it through reading, prayer, meditation, community, listening to music, or simply being in nature). However I am still unwavering in my Christian faith and am really not opposed to attending a church.
Joyce Meyer , Charles Stanley , and Mark Driscoll are a few teachers/preachers who I enjoy listening to.

My Interests

Be thankful for Life!

"Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things."
- Philippians 4:8

I'd like to meet:

Liberty-loving, positive minded creative individuals with a sense of purpose who have an appreciation for good things in life.

btw - I delete comments frequently, don't be offended - they all get read.

Music:

I just like good music - whatever genre it might originate from doesn't matter much.

I've got to recommend the Rhapsody service for listening to music. It's something I really enjoy. There's other options out there but this one seems to have a lot to choose from. As I'm writing this I'm listening to the new My Morning Jacket through the service!

Movies:

I've been satisfied with my Netflix subscription. Huge selection from a wide variety of genres and nothing is ever out of stock. Very convenient.

Television:

A friend recommended a site called Hulu: www.hulu.com

Books:

There's places online to read good books like Project Gutenberg: www.gutenberg.org and Internet Archive: www.archive.org but nothing really compares to holding a book in your hands and reading from crisp pages. I'll often read articles online but I just have a limit for how much, or for how long, I can read off a screen.

Heroes:

Jesus Christ

Ron Paul

Ralph Nader

Chuck Baldwin

Patrick J. Buchanan

Hank Hill
