The Moanin Blacksnakes

Las Vegas' Hottest Rockin Blues Band

About Me

Founded in 1996, the Moanin' Blacksnakes have been a fixture in the Las Vegas blues scene for more than 12 years. Playing more than 150 dates a year, the snakes are a hard-workin', hard-drivin' blues band that packs every venue they play, week after week.
You never know who will show up to play with them on any given night - luminaries such as R&R Hall of Famer Dave Mason, 2 time Grammy Award winner and Tony award winning singer Dee Dee Bridgewater, guitar master Jeff Healy and Jeff Watkins, sax player currently with Joss Stone to name a few...
Scott Rhiner has been one of the best, if not the best, guitarist in Las Vegas for the past 12 years.  He came to us from Omaha, Nebraska via Austin, Texas where he honed his chops on his many six-strings. He even played in front of the late, great Stevie Ray Vaughan.  A shot of Wild Turkey with a Bud back will certainly be appreciated throughout the night.  After all, "the more they drink, the better they sound.".
As one of the founding member of the Snakes, Dalton Farmer has come a long way from being held by Elvis Presley at the gates of Graceland.  Not only does he hold down a bluesy, rocky, and funky groove, but give him a microphone and he'll keep everyone entertained.  A shot of Crown with a Miller Lite back just might help you from being the butt of one of his jokes. .
The "reverend" Art Groom saves souls every night.  He's been playing the Hammond B3 for so long that he may have been involved in it's design. He also tends to throw in some mean "Mississippi saxophone" when given the chance.  And don't miss his true-to-life stories leading up to some of those "gut-bucket gospel" songs from behind his pulpit.  Donating a shot of Bud Light with a bottle of J.D. back will get you one step closer to heaven..
"Phat Mike" Rector is the resident genius of the band.  He is a  graduate of the prestigious Berklee College of Music and comes to us from the east coast music scene.  Mike is one of the three single guys in the band and it shows in the amount of single ladies that show up for every show. He's a great catch, but is one elusive Snake..
Jason Edwards - The newest snake (although he's been a snake for many years) - more to come...
