About Me

Wave on the Barrage (or WOB for short) officially formed in January of 2004... songwriter for the group, Ryan Hubener, came into the project with enough material to get the ball rolling on what would be the band's first record, The Age of Ventriloquism... a 6 song EP. Songs from The Age of Ventriloquism, "Lose in Two" and "Too Good", received radio play from 100.3 FM in Topeka and 105.9 FM in Lawrence... as the band received opening and later headlining acts for local Kansas City, Lawrence, and Warrensburg area shows, additional material was written and introduced into a setlist which grew to 14 songs. In May of 2005, after struggles with scheduling within the band, Marty Johnson, drummer for WOB mutually parted with the group in hopes the remaining 2 members musical careers would continue with success. In order to track our progress to date and as our last musical project with Marty, the initiative was taken to record material that was previously performed live and unavailable on The Age of Ventriloquism EP. Recorded in the Berry Music Group studios and mixed/engineered by George Hunt, the now available 11 song full length, titled Left Behinds, is the culmination of the groups time spent between the months of May and October 2005, recording previously unreleased material and alternate versions of 3 songs ("Too Good", "Lose in Two", and "Pop Dolls") originally found on The Age of Ventriloquism EP.
Back out in the local music scene performing live now with new WOB drummer, Adam Musson and Mike Ford (constant member-bassist), the group performs songs from both The Age of Ventriloquism and the Left Behinds albums. With a fast determination and completely renewed spirit, WOB is plotting the course to acheive what none other than an independent movement could manage... a dissatisfaction for anything less than the best... WOB will bring the torrent of energy that has for too long been extinct from the presence of music... and making their presence now on radio, in the press, and on stages everywhere the group will break new ground, opening the canvas onto which all good things are laid out and materialized. Be a part of Wave on the Barrage... witness the revolution that is happening now!
