In Apparatus Complacency is the continuation of a previous band, Disregard, the latter formed in 2000. After changes in the lineup (Jean-Philippe Jourdain, formerly playing bass and Simon Rondeau, former vocalist), the band turned into a quartet in 2003, under a new name: In Apparatus Complacency. The name change was legitimate, it became a necessity due to lineup changes but mostly due to the musical evolution of the band over the years. The actual musical genre could broadly be described as a blend of influences (indie-rock, post-rock, rock), but eclecticism probably remains a better qualifier. The nuanced song composition, the unusual song patterns and the multiple rhythm changes are an integral part of In Apparatus Complacency musical creation. After having recorded a 3-song demo in February 2004, and following many concerts, In Apparatus Complacency self-produced a second cd in August 2005, full-length this time, entitled Half-truth Monolith.
