About Me

Tommy Daley grew up in Tonawanda, NY. It's a suburb of Buffalo. I took over my sister's guitar when I was 13 and have been playing ever since. I took a few lessons at the beginning but I am basically a self taught musician. I grew up listening to classic rock. My mom used to play Hot Rocks by The Rolling Stones and Who Are you By The Who on the record player all the time. Lots of music by The Doors too. That was it. I was hooked on Rock & Roll. My brother and I used to hold KISS concerts in the garage. I was Ace Frehely, he was Gene Simmons. Lots of Roller Skating to REO Speedwagon. Midnight screenings of The Song Remains The Same. Got into Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Ozzy, etc. Played The Battle Of The Bands and never won. Then I discovered the Beatles and that opened my musical awareness. Things started changing. Songs started getting written. The listening got serious. Somewhere in the 90's, country music started sounding good to me. I really learned to appreciate the craft of songwriting. My songs started getting better. I moved to Hollywood and got distracted by the record business for a while. Had me some good times and learned a lot. Now it's really just about the song. And thats what I do; I write songs.
