Sheffield Gig Goers aims to:
1) Enable the people of Sheffield find gig / club buddies
2) Encourage both of the above by offering free guestlist giveaways via bulletins to group members, organising socials, and running its own club nights
3) Run its own night where gig goers can meet up and socialise
HERE ARE THE DETAILS OF THE GROUP:
1) Enable the people of Sheffield find gig buddies
So, you've spotted an upcoming gig by an ace band, but your friends are too skint, or have rubbish music taste or you're new in Sheffield and don't know anyone yet... etc, etc.
Whatver the reason, just post on the Myspace forum or on Facebook when there's a gig you fancy going to and see whether anyone else is up for it too. Or if you just fancy hanging out in a pub that plays decent music give a shout too!
More importantly, if you're going to an event with mates and you see someone on here who needs someone to go with, please stretch out the hand of gig friendship and invite them to tag along!
There's already quite a few of us who've made firm (even best) friends through the group, so it really does work!
2) Encourage the above by offering guestlist giveaways, free tickets, discounted entries, special offers, socials, etc. via bulletins to group members
Lots of the wonderful venues and promoters of Sheffield are really behind the aims of the group and have agreed to treat us lot to exclusive treats to encourage gig goers to find each other and buddy up!
I'll also be giving you a heads up on other special offers for gigs and events as well as organising pre-gig socials and the like.
All of these fantastic things will be done via messages to members, so join up and you could be in for some real treats!
3) Run its own night where gig goers can meet up and socialise
We host a gig on the second Monday of every month at the Harley in Sheffield, featuring cutting edge bands from Sheffield and further afield, and an indie-electro disco afterwards!
