The House of Capricorn

About Me

The House of Capricorn was initially conceived around the turn of the century by Marko Pavlovic.
The songs which would later become part of the entity began to take shape over the following years, within and without sporadic writing sessions. In mid 2005, Mickey Rothwell was asked to assist in the drumming quarters of the first demo. Once the disc was released in October 2005, Rothwell offered his expertise as a permanent member.
Soon after the release also, Ami Holifield expressed an interest in the band, and was thus assimilated into the group for the cause of sonically crushing duties, as her detonation and style is no short of perfect.
As a friend and respected guitarist, Dave Green was asked to assist in live performances temporarily. After two successful shows the universal pulls saw his movement elsewhere, yet his presence was a necessary component in the primary momentum of The House. Shortly after Green's departure (which was on good terms, none the less), Scott Blomfield, a valued friend and counterpart in other acts and spheres offered his own talents as a string titan to the crew. With a style very similar, and a supreme understanding of The House's concept, Blomfield was a natural addition.
The idea has stayed the same since conception: to create heavy yet easily accessible music which can be consumed and/or understood on multiple wavelengths, either consecutively or respectively. There is no pretense to be beheld. Whether one wishes to align themselves with the band's concept in entirety, or simply enjoy the groove, we, the crew, are impartial. We promote positive self-reliance, and are in great favour of the good times without the complications of tyrannical inhibition.
The House of Capricorn is a swamp sludge rock band, spawned from the fog below One Tree Hill.
