My Interests

What doesnt interest me(outside of computer technology, my boyfriend does all of that for me, Im so ancient and a complete and total spaz, but I can sew like a demon using old vintage patterns) im a wreck because of it........Magic shows(I had a chance to go to the magic castle in Los Angeles in the early 1990s...it was amazing and wanted to really stay for the Houdini seance), George Melies, special education.....the most beautiful, innocent, honest, wonderful human beings to exist I am priveledged to work with every day and humbled as a human being, homelessness, painting, film(obiously....(taught it for seven years until I fell into special education wich I could not live without), art, nature, literature, sewing, sewing, sewing, embroidery, language, culture, traveling, war, poverty, greed, psychology(especially Carl Jung), anything from the 1920's(have had this passion since I was at least 10 years old ) Glad many people are into it as I felt very lonely for many years until it made a comeback in the early 2000's...had a comeback in the 60s and the 1930's fashion saw a comeback in the 1970's with the beautiful combination of flowy hippie dresses ), antiques, very old vintage clothes(I remember when I was 4 and 5 years old buying old vintage clothes from thrift stores to play dress up, my Mom and Grandmother were thrift store and yard sale junkies), music, french, I love education, I have too many degrees and too many student loans and I am still in college at the moment taking classes that I wanted to take while getting my multitude of degrees. Surrealism, German Expressionism, French New Wave, and I love magic lanterns from the 1700's. They have traveling shows on the east coast that I would die to see. The first moving pictures. I am such a geek.

I'd like to meet:

anyone who feels a part of the early teens, twenties, and thirties. I have felt strangely attatched to those eras since I was a little girl after seeing my first silent film and photots of my great grandmother and grandfather on a beach. When I was 18 people called me "granny" because I dressed in 20s vintage clothes. 20 years later it is in vogue now thank goodness. The appeal to me now encompasses the surrealists, german expressionists, among other interesting movements that took place during that era. Buster Keaton, Harry Houdini,Gloria Swanson,Lillian Gish, Werner Herzog, Maya Deren,George Bush to tell him im pissed, Steven Hawking, My fathers father who died before I was born, My Grandmother when she was in her teens and my great grandmother at the same time, Franz Kafka, Mark Rothko, Francis Bacon, Agnes Varda, Jane Campion, Anne Tyler etc. al

Murnau whom I named one of my cats after, you must see The Man from beyond with Harry Houdini, Marx Brothers, Anything by Buster Keaton(just bought a dvd of shorts he did in the 1940's....its so awesome.....I love this man, RKO Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers movies(all seven of them), Vampyr, Der Golem, any German Expressionist film really and film noir for that matter especially the latter french ones.... absolument fantastic, any screwball comedy especially by Preston Sturges( hes the best), Ghostworld, anything by Bunuel, Jane Campion, Agnes Varda,Guy Maddin, Anything that Kino or Criterion put out...... Hell i dont have time to list them all!!!!
