About Me

Myspace Layouts at Pimp-My-Profile.com / Spring garden

Not really sure what to say about me, how do you describe a person in just a few sentences? My interest range broadly and I consider myself a fairly open minded type of person. I'm not any particular religion or political group, though I think I'm fairly moderate/liberal in my views. I love to travel and see new things (though don't get to do it much yet), enjoy reading anything from history to fiction, love fantasy/sci-fi books and movies, adore cats and am happily married. I'm something of an D&D fanatic and in general love anything that is fantasy based. And I've always, since a little kid, had a love of the darker aspects of life. I tend to be quiet around people until I get to know them, and in general am more of a listener than a talker. Anything else...guess you have to ask :) ***********

My Interests

Stuff. And more stuff. My interest change. I love music, books, fairy lights, like to travel, love cats, enjoy writing, old stuff (art deco/nouveau). I'm a D&D/fantasy person, love roleplay (though not to the point of putting on elf ears and having mock battles...'fireball!'), anything dark and creepy and morose and... Just... stuff. I pretty much said it in the 'about me' section.

I'd like to meet:

If I don't know you and you want to add me to your friends list, tell me WHY. I'm a friendly person, but I get request from people and I have NO idea why, I'd sure like to know before giving the 'ok'. Entice me!

Music:

I like just about anything, though in particular favor classical, old jazz, blues, big band, world, celtic, anything interesting or quirky. About the only music I really do not care for is rap (big surprise there), opera (vocal, anyway, I do like Wagner's music), and country (though I'll listen to a little now and then, depends who). To be honest, a lot of rock currently leaves me non-plussed, however. At least the top forty stuff. Gag.

Movies:

I enjoy a wide variety of movies. Some favorites include the LotR series, Key Largo, African Queen, just about any old horror film like the Mummy or Nosferatu, Whale Rider, Sideways, The Matador, Princess Bride, Fifth Element, Snap, Red Violin, Caveman's Valentine (Samuel Jackson!) ..I'll put down more later as I think of them. Suffice to say I like numerous films of all genres.

Television:

I rarely watch television with any regularity, most of what is on I consider a waste of time. I watch John Stewart some, and I got hooked on Firefly (which of course got cancelled) and Farscape (same deal). I catch Monk when I think to. I seem to end up watching the history channel a lot.

Books:

So many favorite books and authors, I can't name them all. I love fiction/fantasy, some favorite writers are Barry Hughart, Charles De Lint, some (only some) of Anne Rice's stuff, Tolkien. Those are ones I can name off the top of my head right now, as all my books (and I do have a lot) are packed away at the moment.

A busy week

So I did my good deed for the day. I gave blood. I've never done it before, been dragging my feet for years but I saw a donation bus in front of a store this morning, and something in me said it was t...

We have a lot of wild life at the new house I'm noticing. I think we had it at the bay house, but the woods were way at the back, all around the house it was mostly grass and the water, so we saw most...
