Lois Lane
was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. Her mother was a certified genius who taught herself how to read by the age of three and play the piano by ear by the age of four. At the age of six Lois would sit by her mother’s stereo and listen to her mother’s records for hours while other children were outside playing. Gladys Knight’s “Midnight Train To Georgia†was one of her favorites. Lois began rapping at the age of 14 after being embarrassed by her boyfriend. He was the reigning emcee champion in their hometown at the time. Lois wanted revenge so she decided to compete against him at his next emcee battle. They say there’s nothing like a woman scorn. One-by-one emcees were eliminated until just Lois and her ex-boyfriend was left. Needless to say, Lois took his crown. It was from that day on that she realized performing and rapping was her dream.
Realizing that Columbus, Ohio wasn’t an ideal city for an aspiring rap artist, Lois Lane moved to the magic city of Miami, Florida. There she began to pursue her music career full fledge - first working with Professor Griff of Public Enemy, then putting together a bass/booty music group including herself and another young female by the name of Fierce, then 2 Live Crew dancer. Not much later, Lois met Sox a former executive of Slip-N-Slide records. He was wearing his Slip-N-Slide hat so she took a chance and told him that she was a rapper hoping he could help her out. He just so happened to be one of their executive producers and after hearing her rhyme off the top of her head, invited her to do a song with their then new artist Trina. The song was supposed to include Trina, Da Brat and Lois Lane. Lois and Trina ended up doing the song themselves and through that song Lois gained mention in The Source Magazine as one of the hottest, new, upcoming female artist. She was also spoken of very favorably in HITS Magazine.
The highlights of her resume thus far are writing and performing the theme for the former WNBA Miami Sol, featuring on Trina’s first album “The Baddest Bitch†(certified Gold), releasing a white jacket single with a former Def Jam recording artist, working and recording with Pitbull, Isaac Hayes, Lazy Bone, and actor Mekhi Pfeiffer from 8 Mile.
