From a true fan:
"I am partial to The Monoxide Project cause those guys just kick so much ass that if rock was a weapon they could end all wars."
-Mikel Woodall
Monoxide Project has est. themselves as one of the premier bands in Arkansas. Over the last few years, they have not only become favorite local headliners, but have also opened for major national acts Black Stone Cherry, Travis Meeks-Days Of The New(acoustic set), Nonpoint, HURT, Kentucky Headhunters, Future Leaders of the World, Drowning Pool, Misfits, Smile Empty Soul, The Exies, L.A. Guns, David Allen Coe, 10 Years, Ashes Divide, and many more. The variance of these acts serves as a testament to their pleasing and diverse style.
When Monoxide Project gets heavy they bring an aggressive onslaught of sound to the table. But, before you can put them in that box they play a soulful down tempo number that makes eyes wet with realization and touches the very core of the human condition. Their message is that we are all here and you are not alone.
Their shows are giant parties in which all are welcome. Monoxide Project brings people together in a way not seen since the late sixties and in that tradition they are about trying to make life more bearable for their fellow man. When Hurricane Katrina left destruction in her wake, Monoxide Project rushed to play for the relief effort and is still playing shows to ease the burden on the victims.
Monoxide Project is not your typical modern rock band. Their roots are deep and the soulfulness of their music serves as branches to shade the weary. They rock because its who they are not who they want to be. Just one listen and anyone can tell that this band is special. They dont do it for money or fame. They do it for love.
They have worked hard for many years and have taken their music and shows to new levels of artistry and professionalism. They found an accomplice and friend in producer Jason Latshaw at Ardent Studios in Memphis recording the songs Ode to Dime, FOOTPRINTS, and Burnt Out Cowboy. MP returned to Memphis with Jason Latshaw in the fall of '07 to LEEWAY MUSIC to record Kata Lambano, Oil Stamp, MP's new songs following their debute Album "Chmical Burns". They are also working on the song "Optimisim" at Signature Studios (N.L.R., Ar) with Andy Wallace and it should be out in early summer '08.
Monoxide Project is currently shopping in the music industry and is looking forward to finding the missing pieces of the journey they began together. Kish, Justin, Jacob, Mike and Rick are a band in every sense of the word and will be a valuable asset to any company/venue/events roster.
