Plans on Being Spontaneous

About Me

I have great friends. It is my hope that I can be as good a friend to them as they have been to me. I have been very happy with my decision to move to Oregon

I enjoy partaking in creative pursuits, including photography, painting, collage and writing. My aim in 2008 is to finish many projects, and have those projects encourage and inspire others.

It is my hope to move toward having less of an impact on the planet and more of an impact on the people around me. The more I find out about the Earth and my effect on it, the more I want to take positive action to change that. The biggest step I can take toward that is to check out of the consumer mentality. I don't need more stuff. I need less. We vote with our dollars.

I desire to be in a constant state of improvement. I try to be more peaceful, but I don't see myself reaching buddhahood in this lifetime. I'm moving toward being less attached to my things and more attached to the people around me. However, I am done with being other people's carpet. I am all about giving, but there is a point where you realize that you are just being taken advantage of.

I am a work in progress... not the finished product. Change is growth. When you stop changing, you start decaying. I don't ever want to be set in my ways. I reserve the right to change my mind. Maybe I shouldn't take myself so seriously.

People with a positive attitude and an interesting thought. People who inspire and encourage me. I want to meet people with lofty ambitions, who don't understand the meaning of impossible

I'll listen to just about anything, but I just don't get country music. I think it reminds me of my childhood too much.

Movies:

Road Movies... movies that involve people traveling like raving lunatics down the road of life.

Movies involving people self-destructing and either completely imploding or finding redemption. Either ending is acceptable to me.

Apocalyptic futures... I like movies with a bleak ending for the human race. I think on some level I believe we deserve it.

Bound volumes filled with words and pictures, usually made from the pulp of trees.

Thompson, "A Tale of Two Cities" by Charles Dickens, "Heart of Darkness" by Joseph Conrad, "American Gods" and "Death: The High Cost of Living" by Neil Gaiman, "Time Enough for Love" by Robert Heinlein, "Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch" by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, "Diet for a New America by John Robbins

Heroes:

People willing to speak their mind. People willing to pursue their dreams.
