About Me

Los Angeles based Alicia Gatto is an authentic singing and songwriting sensation. She is the return of the powerful female rockstar – unedited, raw, and unapologetically real. Her music possesses the complexity of Portishead, the rebellious spirit of Joan Jett, and the industrial edge of Nine Inch Nails. Alicia fuses genres and ignores categorical pigeonholes to create her own true sound.
Orange County grown, she is no newcomer to the California music scene. Alicia has been entertaining professionally since the age of 18. Not only can she sing, dance, and act, Alicia’s true passion is songwriting. Writing all of her own music, her tortured lyrics explore themes of yearning, ambition, desire, and regret. Her songs have a bite to them, meatier than the content of most contemporary female pop singers. Sex appeal drips effortlessly throughout each track. Her sweet cooing vocals breathe life into her edgy danceable rock. Alicia has an unattainable mystery about her that leaves you wanting more, yet she knows how to truly connect with her audience. “I want people to relate to what I’m saying, and to let them know that someone else feels as they do. I want to empower others and give them a sense of hope.”
Sighting fellow Orange County girl Gwen Stefani as an influence, Alicia has the pop appeal of Stefani mixed with the haunting aura of rock band Evanescence. Alicia’s Grammy Award winning producer Chris Johnson crafted the programming and sound sculpting for Evanescence song “Fallen”, and he has helped Alicia create equally stunning tracks.
Alicia’s dance background is as eclectic as her own musical style, having appeared in videos for mainstream musicians ranging from Bon Jovi to The Goo Goo Dolls, Janet Jackson to Lenny Kravitz, and Enrique Iglesias to Britney Spears, along with a video for personal influence Tori Amos. She spent four years as the lead vocalist for the band “Lure” before beginning her solo career. She has previously released the CD “Breathe”, which is currently available on cdbaby.com. Alicia’s upcoming CD “The Search” will be available within the next few months. Stay tuned to myspace for further details....
