Capture A Woman's Body... You'll Get Sex; Capture A Woman's Heart... You'll Get LOVE & Loyalty;

About Me

"The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, worry about the future, or anticipate troubles, but to live in the present moment wisely and earnestly" -Buddha I'm so BLESSED to be a child of GOD, & to have loving people in my life! I'm a writer, illustrator & performance poet. I've been doing the whole spoken word/open mic thing, way before Russell Simmons brought it to the forefront. I'm a bonafide "mic head"... I love performing! The Nuyorican Poet's Cafe & the Afrikan Poetry Theatre in NYC were my 2nd & 3rd homes. Putting pen to paper is 2nd nature, for me, and has always been extremely therapeutic. I've been writing & journalizing since I was a child. I'm considered, a "Smart Chick". I love learning & knowledge, & I tend to ask way too many questions :) I'm complex, in a simple way (wha...what?). My wheels are always turning & I'm always in deep, analytical thought! I'm a silly/quirky soul, who has perfected the New York sarcasm. I have a wicked sense of humor & I love to laugh. I'm a caregiver to the core, & feel that it's my calling. I'm sensitive & extremely passionate about EV-REE-THING! I love LOVE & romance... the meshing of hearts & minds. I'm proud to be a mother. My son is my JOY! He's the cutest 7 year old phenom! He inspires & strengthens me... I try to do my all, to always shine the brightest light for him. His love is the salve on old wounds. Through his eyes, I see life...beautifully new. I HATE War... Discrimination... Poverty... Cruelty... Violence in any forms... especially, towards children, women, elderly, the handicapped, and animals. Your words are timeless*Your vibe is kindness & peace*A lionessfrom the Brooklyn jungle*Your New York State of mind, itshines like diamonds*Your spirit sings like the Winans...melodies of life,joy, struggles and grinding*I learned a long time ago that poetry saves lives*When my friend, she was contemplating suicide,all the talking I tried couldn't touch her inside...couldn't give her the reason to keep her dream alive*All those things inside that we try to hide,come out and liberate us when the pen's in stride,and everything visible we see thru clear eyes*So I recognizea kindred soul when it arrives*It's ironic in these days and timesit would be...but it's a blessing, nonetheless,and right on time*If words were medicine, you'd give sight to the blind,and I ain't gassing you up, just speaking my mind*The force is strong in you*You a threat to the dark side,so beware of the enemies, they coming from all sides*But you gotta friend you can depend on at all times*I give you this poem to help you thru them hard times...Written for me, by ** Mozes ** Much love & respect, King!Support his poetry in his blogs (he's on my top 40)...**MA & DAD'S 50th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION** ..

Television:

Yes, I love reality shows: Survivor, Big Brother, Real World, What Not to Wear, Top Model, Rob & Big, Fear Factor, Pimp My Ride, Celebrity Fit Club, Trading Spaces, Queer Eye, Amazing Race (I'd like you'll to believe that I watch these shows, to better understand the mindset of those that would expose themselves to the world, so raw... but I'd be lying... it's not all that deep... lol! I just think these shows are hilarious). I love anything on PBS, History Channel, Discovery Channel, Food Channel & A&E. I enjoy Jeopardy & Wheel of Fortune. The Cosby Show will always be a favorite. Keeping Up Appearances & Eastenders (BBC). Shows from the past that I've enjoyed: My So-Called Life, Degrassi High, Twilight Zone (I've seen each episode too, too many times), Courtship of Eddie's Father, New Zoo Review, Creature Feature, Wonderama, Magic Garden & Electric Company. Also, being a big kid at heart, I still love all the old Christmas, claymation specials: Santa Claus is Coming to Town, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (my heart went out to Rudolph, they didn't have to hate like that, what's wrong with a little red nose...lol!). I still love the Flintstones & the old Looney Tunes.

Everyday people who make mistakes, but rectify them. Inventors. Scientists. Doctors. Teachers. Single working parents (moms & dads). Loving adoptive and foster parents/families. People who truly love children & work towards the enrichment of their lives. People who love and care for animals. People who live life to the fullest.***** My parents are my heroes and my role models. Together, they raised six children. Not an easy task, but they've always loved & respected each other and taken their vows seriously. They've always been smart, resourceful, responsible parents...I never saw my father take a day off from work, he got up and went...no excuses! With this as an example, I have a great work ethic. My mother ran the house, like a well oiled ship and also worked outside the home for many years. I'm blessed to have always had a place to call home, a loving environment filled with family and friends...full of warmth and lots of laughter. September 14, 2005 was Ma and Dad's 50th Wedding Anniversary ...what wondrous love is this, oh my soul!
