Greg Goudey is SOUL PROJECTOR who began his journey into the life of music composition and live performance over a decade ago.
Beginning in 1992 and on through 1996 he fronted three heavy metal / rock
bands where he learned invaluable lessons in song composition and studio
recording. In the summer of 1996 he was
introduced to the "Southern California Rave Scene" and after a year of participating and taking it all in his passion for music led him to djing and eventually production of dance tracks in 2001. This is when SOUL PROJECTOR emerged.
As a dj Greg (formerly known as Mantis) was one of the most sought after
dj's in the San Diego rave culture and club scene. His eclectic sets of Breakbeats, Tech House and Progressive pleased crowds and promoters alike from San Diego to LA and many points between. He was a long standing resident dj for local promoters Global Jouneys who hosted many
great club night's through out San Diego at venues such as legendary CLUB
MONTAGE and the Voodoo Lounge. His style was also well recieved at the notorious Las Vegas afterhours club GLO and, in 2005 he was brought to Brazil for a club tour.
Greg has played in support of internationally known dj talent such as
Junior Sanchez, Frankie Bones, and Sandra Collins and others.As a producer his early creations were very experimental. As time and money permitted his studio set up grew and his work evolved into more dance oriented fare. His first dance floor rocker BORREGO was picked up by PANGEA RECORDINGS in late 2003, this track was released in October 2004 as the first release for PANGEA RECORDINGS sister label ONE SHOT RECORDINGS. The BORREGO single includes a remix by legendary Progressive House producer ANDY MOOR. This track has recieved support from some of the worlds top dj talent such as EVERYDAY DOWNERS, SHILO and BENZ & MD.
SOUL PROJECTOR continues to work on original material and remixes ranging from Progressive House, Breakbeats, Downtempo to Experimental for PANGEA RECORDINGS, ONE SHOT RECORDINGS, DIRTY GARAGE RECORDINGS and his own Soul Project Media (coming soon )SOUL PROJECTOR tracks have often been described as "Psychedelic" with hints of "Industrial". With influences credited to TOOL, PINK FLOYD, SKINNY PUPPY, and FSOL, one can easily understand and appreciate the intense soundscapes within each track. "every song tells it's own story".As dance music pushes into the future, SOUL PROJECTOR has merged into the flow of groundbreaking producers who will continue to overcome boundaries and stereotypes that often plague dance music genres.
