Band Members: unlikely. a foul mouthed idiot, a guitar, a laptop, maybe a semi functioning synth at a push, a lot of distortion pedals. for the synth. and happy drums on good times pounded joyously and hopefully now audibly by tom "jodie" marsh of the robot heart.
Influences: roland, kraftwerk, public enemy, people with more than their fair share of nose, frankie hill, jean michel jarre, my bloody valentine, bill murray, motown, jumping things on bikes as a kid, galaxie 500, burt bacarach, laibach, wayne coyne, jeff wayne, chocolate skateboard co., warp, new kingdom, lee mavers, the orb, m.r.james, sabres of paradise, my uncle paul, the smiths, the lancashire/merseyside/greater manchester triangle, dinosaur jr., justin lewis orchestra-the greatest sheffield band to disintegrate before their time, findus crispy pancakes, luscious jackson, grandmas who unexpectedly boot out the classics on that piano that hasn't been tuned since you where born, lots of things, the mists of time.
Sounds Like: Blowback: " An enigmatic bunch... Mixing guitars with electronic sounds is not a new idea but it is one that few have done really well (New Order and Depeche Mode are probably the most obvious examples). Collected Dust takes leaves from the books of Spiritualized, Steve Reich and Brian Eno but it also creates its own,individual footprint for Little Gem.
