About Me

Best New Layouts :: Red Hat Linux MySpace LayoutsJehsyn Lavélle has a look and sound that is reminiscent of a true hip-hop artist with a positive message that speaks undeniable truth to true hip-hop fans. His fusion of hip-hop and jazz has an electric sound that has ignited audiences from the U.S. to South Africa. Since becoming a premier artist for M.A.N.D.A.T.E. Records in 2003, Jehsyn Lavélle has toured stateside and abroad performing his self-produced, self-composed material. Jehsyn has a flow suggestive of a breed of MC’s with lyrics that talk about issues relevant to our culture, when they uplifted our culture. There was a time when hip-hop pioneer, Chuck D of Public Enemy labeled hip-hop as the “black CNN”, keeping our culture up on realness without the self destructing nature that we have in place now within the mainstream culture. That style of hip-hop that Chuck D boasted about is what the game needs and that is what Jehsyn Lavélle brings to the forefront. Born and raised in San Diego, California, Jehsyn was influenced by the very artists that spoke truthfulness, not superficiality, into their lyrics. Artists such as De La Soul, The Roots, and A Tribe Called Quest, just to name a few. Being completely able to compose his own material, Jehsyn has also been heavily influenced by jazz musicians the likes of Miles Davis. He soon after started developing his musical skills performing at local fairs and any and all talent shows that he could enter. Developing more of a love for the art of music while honing his skills, it was only a matter of time before Jehsyn stepped into the role of one of M.A.N.D.A.T.E.’S premier hip-hop artist that he is today.2008 San Diego County Fair
